I have a 1980 kawasaki kz440 that i mainly ride around in the yard. i want to change the sprockets to get more acceleration :evil: . I believe stock is 15 in the front and 45 in the back, i would want to go higher in the front and lower in the back right? What would you guys suggest and can you tell me were i can get them thanks.

ps im 15 and this is my first bike, i dont plan on taking it on the road

Lower in the front, higher in the back for acceleration.

Jc whitney is one place...There are others, I'm sure. Those don't sound like stock...but I could be wrong. If those were on my bike, it would be a wheelie prone monster.

Get in touch with Jeff at Z1 enterprises z1enterprises.com/ .

He's a great help on this and has sprockets for a fair price. You might also think about a new chain, and maybe going to a 530 instead of the bigger 630, if that's what your bike has now.

He is talking about a KZ440, not exactly a high hp bike, and I'm reasonably certain it has never had 630 chain on it (unless it was laying across the seat or something):laugh:

Sprocket Specialist will probably make you any size sprocket you desire, and that's probably who you are going to have to talk to, Jeff may be able to get you a smaller front sprocket, but I think you will want a larger rear also for the kind of riding you mention.
