1981 KZ750H LTD Brake Line Lengths? was created by SnyperX
I searched here and on the web and I can't seem to find what the stock brake line lengths are for the 1981 KZ750H LTD. Would like to replace the lines as I go over the bike this Winter. Thanks for reading.

Regards,
SnyperX

Dont know if that info exists anywhere.

i replaced my brake lines last year. With old lines on the bike I zip tied tv antenna coaxial cable to the old lines , marked and measured. You could also use rubber or vinyl tubing , fuel line etc etc.

I also replaced the banjos and washers but reused the bolts

I make my own lines from Earl's parts.  Everything made in USA.  The line is sold by the foot.  They sell various types of hose ends (Speed Seal PTFE) from simple zinc plated steel, to stainless, and anodized aluminum.  Also, you can get hose ends that can be rotated, to make sure the ends are oriented they way your bike requires.  My 750 rebuild thread shows how to build the lines.  And as a bonus, this is just about the cheapest way to purchase lines.

Stock handlebars? partzilla has measurements. Fr. upper hose = 520mm. lower hoses = 600mm.  Rr. m/c hose = 395mm. measurements are probably eye-to-eye. the rr reservoir lengths are also listed.  use a section of tubing or something to verify the measurements before ordering. lower handlebars would need a shorter upper hose. slightly longer lower hoses would be preferable to slightly too short since the hoses have to extend as the forks extend and Fr wheel moves up and down. overly long might possibly contact the header pipes.

So what size hose do the KZ750's use (-3, -4, or -6)? Your pics were great by the way. I did not see what size hose you use for your replacements.

-3 size.  Get the hose with the plastic covering, if you decide to build your own.  Also, a piece of heat shrink tubing will help cover up the spot near the hose end, where the covering needs to be removed to install the end.

I took some string and followed each hose from swivel to swivel and did not include the banjo fittings. This is what I came up with:

Rear: 14 inches
Front M/C: 18 inches
Front to caliper: 22 inches

Sound about right?
