Vibrations - too much and what to look out for?

I was wondering what a normal vibration range is on these old bikes? I just got mine running recently and at around 5k the handlebars/footpegs vibrate a lot to me it seems. I was wondering what is a reasonable amount for a 25 year old bike or what should I look at to help minimize the vibrations?

I think mine buzzes the most at about 6K rpms.
At that rpm, my mirrors are blurry, my clutch and brake lever rattle, and my hands get numb.
Fortuantely, I cruise at about 5K rpm in 5th gear, and it's pretty smooth (4K is best).

Don't know anything about dampening out the vibration, but I'd look at the engine/frame mounts for loose/worn hardware.

Oh, and Pterasaur posted a thread not long ago about dampening handlebar vibrations with BBs poured into the handlebar tube.

Good luck.

That seems pretty much where my bike is comftable too, is around 4k. So I will check that out, I guess it should be a given that these old girls will do that at that high of a range.
