KZ750 LTD seat was created by djm1290
I am a new rider of a 1983 KZ750 LTD shaft drive. Sitting on the seat is a bit uncomfortable and I was wondering if there is any way that you folks might know how to either raise the seat, or move the seat towards the back of the bike. The most comfortable position I have found is sitting on the back part of the seat that's higher, but I sit right at the start of the higher part and its difficult to stay in that position for a long period of time.

Thanks for the help!

Moving the seat isn't a viable option.  Probably the simplest solution would be to replace the foam with a type & shape of your liking & have it recovered.  Doing this would be a custom job.  SargentCycle out of Florida is one place that does motorcycle seats. Possibly a cheaper option would be to find an aircraft seat upholsterer in your area, mentioned in an old KZR topic.  Stating the obvious, your Ltd has a stepped seat, but many 70s or standard models had a flat seat.  Also, it may be that the Ltd handlebars are a factor but replacing them can be kind of a pain.

From looking at how it's mounted, that was what I already assumed. Do I think I could make it work, of course, but it would take too much time. Ill definitely look into an aircraft seat upholsterer though and see what they can do.

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure it's a KZ650 seat on my 82 750 LTD.  It was on the bike when I got it so I'm not sure but it's definitely a stock Kaw seat....it's unmodified on the stock mounts.  The bars are KZ 650 also (I think).  Just needed a KZ 650 clutch cable.  The throttle cables and brake hose were fine.  The brake hose has a bit of an "S" bend but the brakes work fine.

Had I known I'd live this long I'd have taken better care of my Led Zeppelin albums

That's no stock seat foam or cover.  Most likely, someone modified the foam and had a custom cover made.  A great looking seat, for an LTD.  Looks cushy.

I assumed it was something stock because it's on a stock pan.  It's nice to be able to move around on it.
