Aslo make sure the eccentric adjuster bolt is not threaded in to deep. Install it without the lever. Eyeball to make sure you have no threads showing in the slot where the lever lives. If it’s threaded in to deep the lever hits the bolt and not the eccentric stem. You loose all of the adjustments.

Mikaw post=850359That’s road rash. The casting should be more pointed. 

Look at that!  I'll assume the cause was that my dad was up to some shenanigans, and then cleaned it up with some careful reshaping and a bit of filler.  Unfortunately the details of that story will forever remain a mystery.
