Ive been using my phone and dont receive pm notifications on it. Besides that, the messaging system here sucks!  Many times I try sending replies only to loose the message and have to retype it or dont know if it went through.  I used to get email notifications and dont get those anymore either.  idk wtf?

Anyway, I can only email the stickers right now.  I moved to eastern europe and not setup yet.  Just did another Z1b.  Rick Bretts stuff is garbage.  If you just want a sticker there you can make one yourself, I think he uses MS Notepad to make his. (lol)  Mine are more for restorations.

Also, if your original sticker is still intact, I always recommend masking it and just refinishing the frame with something like a single stage urethane.  No need for powdercoat.  And no, typically you do not need the sticker, the frame stamp is what matters.  If you export from the us you may need it.  They needed the weights off my Z1b for import fees when I moved.

I did get response from Rick and it point to the fact that no, it won't be "like original".
See pics with VIN misaligned and this is his response:

Sadly ours will not match, we literally make each one individually onto a template, whereas yours was stamped onto an existing label with a poor case of positioning.

Just for interest, this is what an Australian VIN plate looks like.
Stamped aluminium plate riveted to steering head.

Oh yes, it does have to be there, at least in Australia.
If a nosey copper was to notice it missing they would of course think it was stolen and you would have a lot of explaining to do.
Quite possibly be impounded and incur the $1000 associated costs and also get done for no rego and compulsory third party insurance which could cost up to $1000.
Then loose license for possibly 6 months.
South Australia has the harshest fines and penalties for traffic and motor violations in the country so we are very careful not to upset the local plod.
My advice is yes, make sure the vin sticker/plate is on your bike.

Same conditions here in Germany. The alumium type label is only for general info but the stamped VIN to bare metal on the steering neck is meaningful!!!

I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.
