1983 KZ550 LTD seat fitment/interchangeability?

Hey all,
Would anybody be able to tell me about interchangeability on this year's seat?

My original seat is pretty rusted out. Bought a new one on eBay
Seller advertised as "1982 KZ 550 LTD seat saddle," but doesn't fit my 1983 even remotely. I've read in 4 or 5 different spots on the forums that the frame and seat should be exactly the same for these models (1981-1984 is what I remember seeing but don't quote me on that). This seat was much longer, narrower, and the hinges were set much wider apart than on my '83. Btw, my bike is the chain drive model.

Would anybody be able to tell what model this was intended for based on picture/description? I have absolutely no use for this seat now, I have no means to make it fit so I will end up reselling it. Thanks all

The seat in the pic might be from a shaft drive model. either a 550 Spectre or 550 Ltd Shaft.

1983 had the widest range of Kz550 models. Here they are:

Kz550A4 (Standard)
Kz550C4 (chain-drive Ltd cruiser)
Kz550F1 (shaft-drive Spectre cruiser)
Kz550M1(shaft-drive Ltd cruiser)
Kz550H2( mono-shock Gpz)

Of the cruisers, only the chain drive C models (like yours) were around before 1983.
