Will kz440ltd swing arm fit directly to kz305?

As title suggested, I'm trying to finish my kz305 project but want to convert the belt drive to the chain. I spotted a local kz440ltd(1982) with chain drive and remembered read somewhere people mentioned they can be swapped? Have anyone done this before? Or do you have any suggestion? My bike is 1983 KZ305B. Thanks

I bet it would be much easier to use parts for a chain drive 305 CSR. I think all you will need are the sprockets and chain. You may want to replace the belt guard with a chain guard just for looks.

I doubt anybody knows for sure. I did not see an 83 model at Partzilla, but there is an 82 KZ305-B1. I have no idea if it will work, but the CSR Belt has some of the same swing arm components as some of the 400/440 models. same swing arm shaft, needle bearings & cap, but the swing arm sleeve is different. I didn't check the other stuff. I would compare EB swing arms to yours. and at least measure the width where it fits the frame.

That would be neat, but it's a mono-shock. Now I'm wondering, does he have an EX305 GPz Belt. ???

According to Partzilla, the EX305 and KZ305 use the same front pully and same rear carrier. Evidently, the rear pullies have a different number of teeth, so I bet the 305 chain drive parts will bolt right on.
