KZ1100 fork seals was created by chrisM
HI everyone,

I have a 1982 Kz1100 A2. I did the fork seals and front brakes about 1.5 years ago (7k ago) together with a mechanic because fork oil was leaking all over the tire and the brakes.

Now it's happening again. Same thing.

Is this normal to have to replace fork seals this often? Did I screw it up last time? It took a long time and I don't have the tools to do it on my own and I'm no master mechanic...

I have heard that it might be better/cheaper just to replace the fork than to replace the seals. Thanks for any help/advice.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI tried a Seal Mate tool last time I had a leaking fork seal. The problem has not occurred since, and that was a few years ago.
Well worth it, since grit or something found it's way between the seal and fork tube, which let fork oil get past. The Seal Mate was able to push it out of there, and the leak immediately stopped.
