Looking to go to an 18” rear mag on my 81ltd. I know the z1 will work but what else will. Having trouble finding one off of a z1

If you are asking about an LTD 1000, then I think the rear wheel from the P series police bikes will work without too many headaches. If you are asking about one of the smaller LTDs, then I have no idea.

Z1 did not have mags, it had wire spoke wheels.

Z1 mags? They are indeed very hard to find. Other than after market. But you don't want a Z1 wheel because the hub (and other parts) is totally different. No rear disc brake.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

The ELR had an 18 inch cast wheel with disc brake, but I bet they are really hard to find and quite pricey. I'd put my money on the P series cop bike wheel.

Partzilla & other places have the same diagrams, but Partzilla is the easiest to use & partzilla has a cross-reference.
cmsnl.com also has the diagrams, plus cmsnl has the diagrams for some Euro models not available at most places, including Kawasaki.com.

The small LTDs (e.g. 440) had 16" rear wheels.

I checked Partzilla and an ‘81 LTD1000? uses the same axle as the KZP up till 2005. So a good chance an 18” KZP as Texaskz suggested would appear to swap in.... really need to know the OP’s cc.

So did the bigger ones, but the axle diameters, wheel width, brake rotor diameter and rotor spacing from centerline, wheel spacers and such are different. If the op has a 1000 LTD that he wants to install an 18 inch wheel on, then I think the cop bike wheel may be an easy, affordable choice. If the op has a 200 LTD that he wants to convert to 18 inch, I have no idea what might fit.

That's okay, the 440s don't have a brake rotor on the back - drum only. :)
