Hey all.

I'm planning for a trip across the desert and am researching my tire repair options.

This kind of hinges on knowin wether I have tubes or no tubes in my tire. Normally, I'd look at the tire, and if it says Tubeless, I'd believe it.. but I discovered on a previous bike that the previous owner had put a tube in a tubeless tire anyway.

You got any ways of knowin wether there's a tube on a wheel or not from lookin at the valve stem or somethin?

Your wheels use a tube. Pretty much all tires are labled as tubeless, but on a tube type rim you still need to use a tube because the wheel doesn't have the necessary bead retention lip to hold the tire on the wheel.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

I rode an old Suzuki SP600 from California to Belize Central America back in 1997. I used tubed tires and put in "Slime" sealant before I left. Over 4000 miles of really BAD roads and I never had a flat. Just a thought.
