Just picked up a mint 1980 LTD 1000.The only thing this bike was missing was the tool tray and tools.I picked both up on E-bay but cannot for the life of me find out where the tool tray mounts.Anyone out there know where it mounts? Thanks in advance for any replies.

I have the original tools and pouch for both my KZ550 and KZ1000. The tools are located in a pouch housed behind the battery.

Thanx for the reply but im still lost.I did some double checkin and the plastic tool tray is the correct tray but there is nowhere to mount it behind the battery.Kawasaki.com shows it in the battery box parts diagram but it is just shown seperate off to the side with no hint to where it actually goes. www.kawasaki.com/Default.asp?strContentU...talogID=2&intParts=1 I wouldnt think they would mount it underneath the airbox silencer! Any clue guys?

does your bike have the complete stock air cleaner? there was a "snorkel" that was part of the airbox under the seat and the tray went on that(on 77-80 model)

Thanx bob_z1.I see where it goes now!I have airfilter pods installed but do have the original airbox and snorkel and i set it on there and it fits.It must just float on top im asuming since there is no noticable way to tie it down.Thanx again! Time to stop wrenchin and go for my first ride on my new toy.
