I have a 80 ltd1000,Im running the stock rear tire 130/90/16.Will a 140/90/16 work without any clearance problems?

It's tight but will fit. I have a Kenda that size on my '77 KZ1000A1 with the stock LTD alloy wheels. Just one note, different tire manufactures may or may not fit. Not all tire are the same size even though they have the same size marked on them. rim width makes a differance too.

I've found Avon tyre's site to be useful in that in addition to sizing it'll list the actual width of the tire. Makes it a lot easier to figure out if they'll fit.

Just a little thought on tires .. remember that a tire will change its dia. to its width when you ride it.. some of those really WIDE tires they put on those new custom chppers will GAIN aquater of an inch in its heigth .. so check your clearance from axel to swingarm .. just a thought

The swing arm is not the problem. The tire will rub on the chain before the swing arm. I have a 140 Ching Shing on the back of a 79 1000.
