Without looking too close or thinking too hard, I would guess about '79 or '80 ? The month and year of manufacture should be printed on the steering neck, way up front on the frame. Dig in behind all the wires coming out of the headlight and you should find it. How much is he asking for it?

Got a link to a bigger pic? Ain't no '86, that's for damned sure! KZ440s were made from 1980-1983. Standard styling means it's a B model, so it's either an '80 or an '81.

$400
says its running well and said the frame is rust free. there is no title for the bike which sucks but i'm not too worried about that

i'm not even convinced its a 440, it looks a lot more like a 400 so maybe the sidecovers were replaced with the wrong thing?

thanks for your help

Well, it is certainly a Kawasaki, that much the seller got right. Go take a look at it. If it runs fine like he says it could be worth $400. I would check the tires first. Two new tires could cost you almost as much as the bike. Otherwise you could tweak it, clean it, and ride the hell out of it this summer, then tear it down in the winter. Looks to be a little weather-worn; faded tank, rip in seat, etc. The seller must not know much about bikes, try to talk him down? Good luck!

I think the engine size should be cast into the engine block
