just a nother dumb question

I have a 1980 kz650 LTD and need to change fork seals I looked in the archives and still don't have a grasp on whats involved, can someone pleas spell it out for me:(

I went to the archive and clecked the little search button link in the upper left corner. Then I entered 'fork seals' in the search box (subject only)and there are millions of hits. Heres a couple:

It's complex, it depends on your model, there are a few different popular methods of doing it (again dependig on model), and you must read and read and read archive posts to fully understand (Kent has given you a good start).

I did all the research (days of it), bought the parts from z1enterprises.com, then tried one and couldn't get it out. I admit, I didn't try as hard with the forks as I would other things, since they are so delicate.

Then I called my favorite shop and they told me $32 a fork with oil (since I already had the boots and seals). *THAT*, my friend is - as they say - a no-brainer to me....
