oil on belt was created by rickj
Changing oil- I had a problem with the drain plug and dripped some oil on the drive belt- what would be a safe way to clean it?? I wiped off what I could- is there a "belt wash"?? Soap and water??
Thx

Soap might not cut the oil sufficiently. Use an orange based cleaner which is pretty decent at degreasing. There are orange cleaners and orange cleaners. The cheaper ones tend to be watered down quite a bit so you might want to buy a squirt bottle of one of the name brand better quality cleaners. I think this stuff would be very safe for a belt. Simple Green, another degreaser would also probably work.

Simpel Green works great for me on a TON of stuff. I use that stuff everywhere. If you're looking for a versatile, eco-safe product go with that one. :)

sounds good- that simple green is really pretty tought though- you don't think it would hurt- actually- a good rinseing after should get it all out- while we're on the belt- is there any "maintainance" for it to "feed" the rubber? or just keep it clean.?

Well I make a habit of rinsing off most stuff anyhow just to make sure... whether it be brake clean (bad for paint - good for removing dirt, oil and grease) or simple green.
