Hey Scott- The rear end looks pretty sweet. That new rim is pretty small compared to the stock rim. I just put my 130 rear tire on my factory rim tonight and it looks better than the puny old stock 110.

What are you going to be doing for the front and rear sprockets? Are you looking for outta the hole, top speed or mid-range acceleration?

Cheers-Colin Firth-Ontario Canada

I thought stock was 130, (thought I bought a stock bike:P )
the zx rim is a 17(6 inches wide), and the kz is an 18(2.something wide:lol:), the sidewall on the zx wheel is a lot shorter tho which makes it much shorter than the 1 inch change in rim size.
Im not sure on sprockets yet, I know the front is probly going to be a 3/8ths offset (Intimida2or is running practically the same setup on a 1250, and chimed in on a previous post) but I havent decided on the tooth count.
I would like to set it up so that I can use my kz rear sprocket as a "street" sprocket (top end) and swap that out for another sprocket at the track for drag racing, using the same front sprocket in both setups for simplicity.
I will probly figure it out by doing a little math to get the right front sprocket to give it a bit more top end using the kz rear sprocket on the zx wheel, and then get another rear (more teeth/lower gearing) sprocket for the strip.

btw, hows your 810 going?

Hey Scott - The 810 should (hopefully) be put together next week. I am just waiting on one more major component to come in.

I'll be putting the bottom end back in the frame this weekend, slipping on the jugs, the top end then claying the pistons for proper clearance. I just received a missing electonic ignition rotor from Dyna in California, a $20 part but with shipping and the $$$ exchange rate it set me back nearly $75. You wanna play, y'a gotta pay!

I picked up another body work set (thanks shoeman) with original '77 Moon Dust Silver. It was in pretty decent shape for its age but considering the level of perfection I have put into everything else on the bike, I have decided to color match and reshoot the parts. In the meantime I will use the red/silver and gold set from last year which is in mint condition.

I am looking forward to breaking in the bike...hard:)
I'll give an update on the power bump from the Wiseco 700 to the 810 kit when I have a chance to find a deserted, smooth strip of blacktop in my town and at that time I might write a little paper on the complete project for the resources page.

Cheers-Colin Firth

Shipping can sure be a pain in the arse, I paid 50$ US for the wheel, and 50$ US to get it here, worth it tho, I have heard new ones go for around 550$ US
Looking forward to hearing about the power increase, good luck with the rebuild.
Oh, and to get off topic even more:silly:, What are you running for jets in the 28mms?
