Too bad. I really enjoy hearing stories about people that fall over deals involving old bikes...gives me hope that it will happen to me. Keep the forum posted on the 'black chrome saga' . I have a banged up set of original exhausts I'll need resurfaced, someday. The GPz's may be dinosaurs, but mine will still be running twenty years from now ('course petrol will be $10.00/gal by then and I'll be dead of old age).

I'm actually a member of both the forums I listed, and probably a couple hundred more. Whenever I run across a forum that looks interesting, I try and log in to see if I'm already a member :D

Will give welding a try. Also, thank you for adhesive offer and tips. There are a few autobody repair supply shops in the greater Atlanta area so if needed I should be able to find locally.

You might be interested in reading about the first thermoplastic, Bakelite.
