I've got a 130/90, but have heard others have gone to a 140.

Hey Rob-If you get a chance can you measure how much swingarm clearance you have on each side of your 130 rear tire? I have just ordered a 130 but if you think a 140 will fit I may just up the size for my '77 Kz 650 Custom with mag wheels.

A 140 might fit,but it would be a TIGHT fit.Sure...it may not touch the swinger,BUT...will it rub under stress??(in a tight corner)...not sure...
I AM sure,that I wouldn't want to find out THAT way!

I´d say 130 - while you might be able to squeeze a 140 in the stock swingarm, there´s also rim width to consider. The stock 650 rear rim is only 2.15 and a 140 would be too wide for that, the tire would "balloon" too much and as Sandy says, cornering hard you could be in for a nasty surprise.

I've got approx. a 1/4 inch clearance on both sides with the 130.
