Project P14/Trike Completion

Man that looks great. I'm not big on trikes but that thing is cool. Pat yourself on the back for doing a great job.

Harry, that is real nice! Is the rear a hardtail or is it suspended? Any pics of it without the rear fenders?

It has independant suspension with McPherson struts that have been modified by shortening the case and valve tube 2 1/2 inches and the rod 4 1/2 inches then recharged.
I do have photo's of the drive mechanism and suspension.

So that was a shaft drive to begin with?

That deserves to be both Bike of the Month, and on the 2007 Calender! Very nice job. I am amazed you built it from scratch.

Since I am 57 years old, I wonder how many more years I will be able to keep riding the two wheelers. The younger guys on here probably do not understand the loss of balance that comes with advancing age. My balance is still quite good (lots of physical activity, and many years of bicycle riding), but I can tell it is not what it was when I was 40. It is nice to see that I have options, like your trike.

Please put up a post with details of the entire fabrication process. We want to learn how you did it.

Hey, I am only 80 years old !!!
Like you I still have a good sense of balance but the bike seemed to be getting heavier each time I stopped at a light. Have never dropped one and do not intend to now. As I previously stated to Steel, now I can relax and wave to the girls with both hands. My children are giving me a party this month and I am seriously thinking of riding to it if the weather cooperates. I also intend to ride to my 90th party.
I will consider working up some info on the conversion.

Nice hack, Harry! For once I actually like a front fairing on something, it matches the rear fenders!

I've been think of converting a 750 twin into a trike. Where did you get the info on the differentail and suspension?
