Is there an easy way to adjust the stock shocks if you don't have the shock tool?

I used a piece of leather between the jaws of a pair of channel locks and the shock. No scratches and worked just fine.

I sometimes grab hold of the adjusting collar and lift and rotate it by hand.

Not the easiest thing to do though :(

I used a shop rag and a pair of vise grips. Leather sounds like a better idea, but the rag works well too. In the end, it was much easier than using the shock tool.B)

You might find it very much easier if you get the back wheel up off the ground first.

A set of spanners is good to have in the tool box. Needed to adjust head bearing play on may bikes and they are not expensive tools.

Cheap is good Duck! I keep bidding on these $5-10 shock tools on ebay that look just right for both shocks and neck nuts, but get beat every time:lol:
