Anybody ever tried/done this???? Sure dont seem to be much room in there. 'Course, some folks may ask "Why would ya??"
Just curious as to if anyone had given it a shot.....
on a 77 kz1000A.

(I just love them monoshock setups!)

Indykaw77 have you tried the archive section? I did a quick search and found some info on different models and I know in the past (at least I think I remember seeing it) I saw pics of a monoshock setup in here.

I dont think putting a mono shock on a swingarm designed for dual is a safe idea. What do you guys think? I think it puts more presure on the arm.

I think that technically it can be done.

But I think that theoretically it would be easier and safer just to swap to a swingarm made for monoshock use.

If you look at swingarms they are boxed. What I mean is, the arms, 99% of the time, are boxed aluminum. The reason for this is because the edges of the "box" add rigidity to the arm.

KZ stock arms are not boxed... nor are they really that rigid.

definately what two wheel says,by the time you brace a stock swingarm enough to make it work without twisting you will have an extra 20lbs of braces and gussets,even with twin shocks there is some flex in the stock swingarm!goodluck,happy wrenching!
