Coil Specs??

Just wondered what OHM the coils should be for my 74 z1 900. I talked to the mechanic that replaced my coils back in May of this year and he said he thought they were 5 Ohm. Z1Enterprises only has 1.5, 2.2, and 3.0 listed so I am thinking either my mechanic is wrong or he put the wrong ones on my bike. Anyway, I had a short over the weekend and my coil connected to my 1 and 4 started smoking....I'm thinking I am going to need new ones.....

They were 3 Ohm coils. The 3 Ohm coil is actually pretty close to 4 Ohms in most cases. The 3 Ohm Dyna coils sold by z1enterprises.com are the correct replacement. No Kaw coil that came from the factory was a 5 Ohm coil that I know of but the 5 Ohm coils will work although the power out to the plugs will be a shade lower due to the higher resistance.
