Aftermarket Starter Selenoid

I'm sure at least some of y'all out there have fought with your old cranky(pun!) starter selenoid. I was running through the list on partsnmore.com and found an aftermarket starter selenoid. Unfortunately they are out of stock.

Has anyone else purchased one of these or purchased any aftermarket starter selenoid?

Or have you even seen any out there?

The most important feature with respect to a solenoid is to find one that will mount in the place you have to mount it. I use whatever solenoid I can find on eBay... usually a Kaw or Suzuki as they fit pretty much where the original went. The main difference in most solenoids is that they don't have a ground for attaching to the regulator and you must ground the regulator separately... The Suzuki solenoids don't have a ground wire coming off for this purpose so you just take the regulator ground to another chassis ground. Not sure I would spend my money buying a new aftermarket solenoid when eBay is full of $3 used ones.

I just odered a new one saterday $39.95 from one of my local kaw shops, havnt got it yet, so not sure how its going to work. They sid it was for a kz 900 and should'nt have to do anything but plug it in, but....... you know how that goes some times.:blink:
