scanned the diagram from my clymers manual - not the best in the world, but at least it is something. tried to keep it large enough to read, but not ridiculously large...

oops - scanned the wrong diagram - should be the right one now.

oh yeah - the black wire from the regulator/rectifier does go to a black/yellow which is indicated as a ground...

good luck sorting it all out.

Fellas I don't want to jinx myself but the battery has kept it's charge so far. Thanks to the "motorcycle guru" who never helped at all. Not to mention the friend who said he would call to help me load it. If I hadn't loaded it in my truck I don't think I would have noticed the cut wires inside the harness. But I really owe my thanks to you guys who tried in every way to help me. If that is what the problem is and I hope it is fixed the only thing left is the carb but that is another forum. I am proud of my KZ.
