1/4-left coil wiring

1/4-left coil wiring was created by Mike W.
I got distracted when I was removing the small wires on the input side of the left coil. My notes tell me red on the top terminal, black on the bottom, but I feel the need to verify. The manual refers to pos and neg markings on the coil body but none of the 4 coils I have here have that marking on it. Can anyone verify for me red top/black bottom for the left side? Thanks.

A coil has no polarity. It makes no difference which wire goes the which terminal.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

That was what I thought but they see to go to all kinds of trouble in the manual to describe what goes were as referenced to the markings on the coil body. Thank you!

That is strange. As Ron said, there is usually no polarity on coils.

The only thing I could guess is if the coil is somehow permanently magnetized to be more efficient. Does the coil feel strongly magnetic without being powered up?

I did not feel any magnetism at all as I slid it past the frame or worked near it with tools.
