Interesting..I wonder if was caused by going really fast? Or weak stems or just too heavy? I don't want that to happen to me for sure. maybe I can find some light (no pun intended) ones? :woohoo:

I've been thinking about that. I want to know what they look like too when I'm riding. Maybe I can get my neighbor to drive next to me and get a pic......off to wally world! The auto parts store had some (13 bucks) but I have to go to wally anyway...

Ok , bought some blue ones at wally world for less that $10. Brought them home and put the one . They are activated by motion and stop lighting if motion stops. I could only see them a little as I rode. Ran past the house and got my son to check them out , he likes.
Now for the legality question. On the package it says "For off road use only". Being a firefighter I know a few cops so I dropped by the little sub-station in the shopping center up the street and asked them . My favorite female officer asked me what kind of trouble I was in now. I was shocked I said , I'm merely here to ask a hypothetical lighting accessory question. seems red or blue is a no no .They might possibly be viewed as emergency vehicle warning lights. Green, yellow, purple , whatever are ok. So I guess the blue ones will go back...try to find a different color I like. They only had red green yellow and blue at walfart. Auto parts store had white I think but they were twice the price. I'll look around.
Of course the wife made fun of me. wanted to know when I was going to clothes-pin some playing cards into the spokes. I told as soon as I got that wider seat and heavier shocks so she could ride with me. That shut her up! Boy do I know how to handle women.

When my wife makes a crack like that I learned to not say anything, because anything I say will only make things worse:laugh:

I'm trying to teach my oldest son the same thing: sometimes the smartest thing you can say is to not say anything. He's pretty smart on most things, but on this subject he is pretty slow.:P

Or, as the title of Ron White's latest book goes, "I had the right to remain silent, but I didn't have the ability."

As far as the LEDs go, they're not for me, but have fun.

I returned them....Didn't want to get in trouble or get a ticket. They might have let me go as I am a firefighter but why press my luck?

Here in Texas, the law is, white or yellow facing front, red or yellow facing rear. No other color is allowed and if it blinks pulsates oscillates or whatever while the vehicle is in motion, its a no no. The city cops and state troopers will get you here, the sheriffs and constables wont because they need the votes.
