82 KZ650CSR...bike started to run rough after I tightened chain (coincidence?) I thought it was a carb/gas problem. Yesterday it ran real rough could harly get it home. When I shut it off...no power anywhere but the neutral light. Can't start, no headlight, no horn, directionals...nothing. All fuses checked out, power on both sides. Checked white battery wire to ignition switch..good power in and out. Power to coils (red wire?). Funny thing though, my meter shows power on the grounds of the rear directionals..(meter black to engine ground, meter red to directional ground) Short somewhere? I have the headlight out and tank off, nothing obvious. Got a place to start anyone?

Check everything off the solenoid. There is a couple connectors there that are notorious for corrosion. And by the way...you have to replace the factory fuse box. So many times it seems like allot of electrical problems come from there. I would even go as far as calling it a "factory defect"...JMHO.

OK...found it...another bad ground in an obscure spot. Had to dig deep for the connector. It even had a bullet plug covered by what looked like shrink tape. Cleaned it up and gonna ride!
