Installing a LED H4 bulb will it fit/work??

The FJ is a 1986 model.I think the generator is supposed to give max 15amp .One thing that is common the FJ is that the connector coming from generator rectifier melts .It did on mine and i replaced the connectorplug with big spade end connectors and i has worked.It is common on other bikes to that that connectorplug melts after what i have heard

The below is listed for 86 - 96 FJ1100 and FJ1200. The alternator is rated at 40amps which is why you have had no problem running a 100w bulb

Very good info from those that responded. Over the years, I've installed relays for the high and low beam circuits on several motorcycles, without having to go to a higher wattage Halogen bulb.  Simply providing 'direct' (via relay) voltage/current to the filament often provides the illumination you are wanting.  I've also gone the 100W H-4 route on other KZs, while using relays.  Those were models with higher amp alternators so there wasn't a problem. Although, there was evidence of 'wire-warming' when I later checked inside the headlamp shell. Consider using a larger gauge wire for the supply line from Battery to relays and onto the HL connector.

All I can say is: "Absolutely PATHETIC" and "worthless rubbish"
There is NO difference in output light pattern, between low and high beams: just dim and very dim !!!
If you look closely at a proper halogen H4 bulb, the fillaments are in different positions, so that the focal point of the light output, will be significantly different, low / high beam.
So, when assessing an LED headlight bulb, at least, the LED "chips" for High / Low beam should be in different focal positions!

Anyhow, as is comon practice on Ebay, rating an item, and the seller, helps others to make informed buying decissions.
I rated the item as ONE out of 5 stars (there isn't an option for 0 out of five stars), and that I was NOT pleased with the transaction.
The seller immediately offered a FULL refund, and did not even require me to return the items, PROVIDED that I remove my ONE star rating.
I refused, hoping it would help others...
Ebay subsequently refunded me anyway, and that specific seller is no longer active, and, I see that these LED bulbs are no longer being sold on Ebay.

Have used LED H4 bulbs for over 10 years, ....in more than one bike.... and don't blind anybody.  No more than the standard bulbs.    They do look brighter than incandescent, but the reflector is not optimized for LED thus it is not "out of this world" as some one may think.     The spread is simply narrower than standard bulbs, which covers more on the sides, as the incandescent throws light to the reflector  360 degrees, where the LED bulbs throw top for low, and bottom for high. 

the diminishing factor is not the LED bulb, but the reflector.   

I used them mainly because their low current consumption.....not because of better illumination.   It is certainly whiter though.

Hi Hugo, I agree there is no reason why an LED bulb wouldn't work and yes it would draw less current, the issue we have in Europe is VERY strict "construction and use" regulations to remain legal. In the UK the automotive lighting regulations (when it was paperbased) was thicker than a FSM !!!!!

I think that setup is going to make good light .Strange name on it highside not what i want when riding.

Appreciate the response, but still undecided.

Difficult to ascertain beam pattern with that target background & close distance.  Standard beam aiming / pattern testing in the US is 25 ft. on a blank wall.
