The keys for our Kawasakis are given a Key Code.
With this code, new keys can be ordered, other locks found with the same number, etc.
The Key Code is often stamped, by hand, on one of the locks: Steering, Ignition, seat.

Wookie58 has asked for the location of the Key Code for a 1982 KZ1000.
Some information from my books:

On a 1000 J they are also on the seat lock/helmet hook back plate.

If you want an original key or a blank, here is an online resource.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.
