Changing fuses box to blade was created by Qsmothers3
So I have an '82 kz440 and I want to make the switch from tube fuses to blade....blades are much easier to find lol. Is there a place I can buy a blade fuse box that will connect straight over or will I have to re-wire it?

You'll probably have to rewire. There was one guy selling a blade fuse box for the KZ650 but I don't think he's around any more. cws wiring or something like that.

Here's one with a snap on lid that will need to be wired.  www.oregonmotorcycleparts.com/connectors.html
There are other types available elsewhere that use one or two plastic screw-on fasteners that secure the lid.

Edit: the linked fuse box includes open barrel terminals. get an open barrel crimper to properly install the terminals >> the crimps are very strong. I would get clear terminal covers. install the covers onto the wire before crimping, then slide them over the terminals. doing this stuff will give a stock type installation & protection. If the fuse box you get doesn't have the terminals, I prefer the open barrel type. get plenty of spares in case you mess up. Z1Enterprises. CycleTerminal. VintageConnections. etc.

Here's the box I used on my 440 - Amazon, ~$7. It will be going into its own enclosure so I'm not worried about it being waterproof.

Which ever you go for get one that have double the quantity capacity so you have spaces for spares of each size.

For a few extra dollars, you can get one that is weather proof to start with.

The one from Oregon motorcycle parts has a gasket/o-ring at the lid. Some of the others I've seen are the same. so I assume they're weatherproof.

That's fair. In this particular case, I have gotten rid of the airbox (replaced carbs w VM30s) so there is a good deal of room for a centralized housing to contain the battery, reg/rec, etc.

And "gotten rid of" here just means "removed". I haven't thrown it away or anything.

Here is how I did it. 4-in 4-out blade fuse box from ebay. Costs around 10$ ±. Fits in the original holder/clamp with a few small modifications. As far as weatherproofing go I think it's okay compared to the original one. If it starts to corrode I'll switch it out later. The original glass fuses are close to impossible to get here, so it will do for now.
