The ZX1100A1 (GPZ1100UT) don´t have any mass flow sensor!!!

AFAIK only the Z1000 H, Z1000 G (Classic) and Gpz1100 B1 use the mass flow sensor and analog EFI system.

Later models B2 and GPZ1100UT (ZX1100A1) use the DFI (digital) fuel injection (Alpha-N) system, with no mass flow sensor.

Finally got some garage time. We’re in the height of summer here in western australia, so sometimes it gets a bit unbearable!

Tested all the wires around the dfi system for breaks and they were all ok. It was just not supplying power to the computer.

anyway, after much digging around i found the problem.

The connectors in the main computer connector have a split prong female fitting - difficult to describe but you’d recognise it if you saw one. One half of the connector was bent down on the white/red main power lead so it wasn’t fully contacting the male connector on the computer. I only noticed it looking very closely.

i bent it back and the thing fired right up!

quite a few of the others have the same issue, so I’m going to go in and starighten them all up.

i reckon they’ve got like that when I was testing them with my multimeter probe over the years - so lesson learned and more info into the memory banks for next time!

they weren’t even that distorted but it just shows how little things can be out to cause problems.
