Hello! New member here. From Sweden. I am rewiring a KZ750 LTD 1982 and I have had it running earlier but now I cant get any spark. Narrowed it down to the igniter thingy. Can someone please help me with the wiring. Also putting in a m-unit. Thank you

Do you have the schematic for your motorcycle?
I can't find those wire colors on my schematics.
Is that the ignitor that came with your motorcycle?

Here's a diagram I drew for a U.S. Kz750K1 twin, based on a German Kz750K1 twin.
I'm not 100% sure what the pink wire was for (it's been a while), but most likely (99%) it was for a safety interlock, especially since wiring it to ground makes it work.

Thanks Lou!
That pink wire was confusing me.

Carnesir,
You'll wire your (yellow with red stripe) to the ignition output on your m-unit along with your positive coil wire.

(pink wire) and (black wire with yellow stripe) go to ground

(yellow with blue stripe) goes to coil negative

(blue wire) and (black wire) go to your ignition pickups

Thanx for all the replies.
Yes its the igniter that came with the bike
If I wire it up like the schematic the weird thing is that i have 12 v on the brown and pink wire. Am I missing something???
I wired as follows bl-bl, blk-blk, y/r to coil pos, bl/y to coil neg, blk/y to ground, Pink was left alone.

Is it possible to wire some other way?

Starting from scratch this morning and found that there was missing wires in the right handlebar switch. Fixing that and then rewiring the complete bike. Thanks for all the help
