GPz1100A2 battery warning light was created by woodyvale
Hi all,

I've got the usual battery warning flashy light going on as its looking for the missing electrolyte sensor on my battery.

I've tried splicing the pink wire into the + battery terminal and also the the rear brake switched live wire. And the b*&^#@d warning light is still flashing.

The pink wire has continuity, so no break there. The LCD display works normally on the ignition startup testing phase.

Just wandering what I'm doing wrong or whether its the LCD that has a fault.

Any ideas?

Cheers!

Do you have the Kawasaki service manual?  It has detailed troubleshooting steps that can be performed.

Yes, I was just flicking thru that section of the manual last night after I posted. Will see what it comes up with.

I suspect its the gauge itself rather than the wiring.

All good. Having taken the tank cluster to bits and checked all the connections it turned out to be a dodgy connector block between the gauge and wiring loom. Looks like corrosion on the pins once I dug into it.

Everything's lighting up now as it should and no warning light after cleaning it all up.

Least I don't have to replace the LCD gauge!

Thanks for the report.  So checking the wiring connections as suggested by Kawasaki does work sometimes.  probably often times overlooked or poopooed. hee.

That's right - the manual testing procedure definitely helped me out. Thanks for the suggestion!
