No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI can't remember where I found it, but when I was searching the interwebs about what size of wire to use, I found that 16 AWG was the proper wire to go with for redoing the electrical on a bike. this is what I bought for my bike and it's great wire. I also bought a 8 pack of striped wiring. As well for connectors. I decided to go with something waterproof, I'm using weatherpack connectors to redo all my connectors. They work great, are super secure and very weather resistant. They are also really easy to assemble with the right crimper. Just get one that will do the seal and the wire crimp at the same time. And don't worry about the ratcheting feature. My ratcheting feature didn't work on my crimper, so I removed it and it works exactly the same.

I purchased the same wire, very satisfied with it. Aslo I like the ratchet function because it allows you to “Load” the open barrel terminal into the crimper and set it down and make all your preparations for the crimp. Makes it easier for me if I need to adjust the length of the strip to get a correct crimp.

I was not aware that none ratcheting crimps did not let you load the barrel! Well if that is the case, then yes buy ratcheting. It makes it way simpler. Like I said, I bought the ratcheting with the ability to load it and the ratcheting didn't work on mine. But I like it way more for the loading feature!

I only have experience with a ratcheting crimp. I don’t know if the non will or won’t hold a terminal. An assumption would be once you’d set down the non ratchet the handle would open releasing the terminal. Maybe not. But I know that with the ratchet type once set in the crimp and closed to the first or second click it hasn’t started the crimp yet but no way the terminal is coming out.

I got this one and used it on my Honda bike project. Doesn't hold terminal but for amount of work I need to do - worked just fine. Perfect crimps, look good.
