Trying to better under my boots, wires and coils for my '82 CSR650?

In the process of repairing and upgrading my CSR650 I am wishing to purchase new wire and spark plug boots.

I have googled the need for 7mm wire and that there is a need for a resistor (in either the wire or spark plug boots) in order to suppress any EMI given that the '82 models have electronic ignition systems?

The spark plug boots that I have are marked 1K

From what I understand I need 5K resistance in order to shield the EMI and that too much resistance (using both suppression boots AND wires) will weaken my spark?

Can someone kindly shed some light into what I correctly need to order?

I don't think you need resistor caps or plugs.
But you are correct that you don't want both, too much resistance.

I'm using a late model CSR650 electronic Ignition on my '78 650C.
B7ES plugs.
Just bought Dyna grey coils and wires.
You can buy just the wires.
Caps are included in the wire set.

So if I am to understand, I do NOT need ANY resistance?

Forgive my lac k of knowledge but having no resistance will give me EMI and that can play havoc with my electronic ignition no?

I thought the resistance is to suppress EMI so people adjacent to the bike using an AM radio won't hear static?

Anyway, you only need one resistance source: R type spark plugs, suppression type wires (like Dyna and cars use.) or resistor caps. Any of the following, but only one, is recommended (although Kawasaki recommended R type plugs for certain year and model bikes, check your factory manual for more info.)

My motorcycle is the 1981 KZ650-CSR w stock ignition system which should be the same as yours. I installed the green Dyna 3.0 ohm ignition coils & Dyna spark plug wire set from Z1Enterprises.com. and didn't bother w resistors or anything. The gray 2.2 ohm are supposed to be a better match for the Kawasaki electronic ignition, but I went with the green in case I have to switch to the Dyna S ignition for whatever reason.
