I don’t but I’m guna try to grab one today. I have no experience using one, so any tips on where/what I should be checking would be greatly appreciated!

Going to also pickup new fuses, which I’ve never replaced and I haven’t even located where the fuse box is yet.

You'll be fine. All of us had to start somewhere.
Let us know when you get the meter.

send a picture of the meter.
i have to tell you how to set it.

you need to set meter to read DC V

bike ignition on
engine off

Black probe on negative battery post(post being the metal part of battery the negative wire is attached to)
Red probe on positive battery post
note voltage

Move red probe to the brown wire you spliced to
note voltage

Turn off bike

Put your meter dial on the green circle.
20v dc

So when I put it on the battery terminals it reads 12.5 - then when I move it to the brown wire it reads 0.0

Brown wire i think is switched threw the ignition. Turn the ignition one position and put the run/stop switch in the stop so you don’t overheat the coils. Then you should have power to the brown wire.

My original photo didn’t post, but my run/off switch is busted and can’t be adjusted at this point. So I can’t put it in the stop position. I think it’s permanently in the stop position. By jumpering the brown wire to the yellow/red wire I thought I was bypassing the run/off switch entirely.

Try black from the meter on the battery negitive, and red of the meter on the brown. Make sure you are in contact with the copper wire of the brown.
