So I checked out the power to the ignition coils with the 20v setting with the ignition on. Got 0.02 on both coils. Low reading? I gave the points a closer look and they are definitely pitted. If that's the case would replacing both the points and condenser help?

Don't worry about the points yet.
You need to have 12 volts at the coil before they will fire.

Turn on your bike. Turn on the high beam. Does the blue light on the dash come on?

The blue light on the dash does come on. As a matter of fact all the other electrical like the blinkers, hazards, horn, headlight, brake light, etc work great.

Ok, this is where you have to look.
The red/yellow wires are disconnected somewhere between the coil and the Engine Stop switch on the handlebar.
You have power getting to the handlebar switch..It's just not getting to the coil. It could be a bad switch or a break in the yellow/red wire.

The wires from the switch should be in a black vinyl loom going from the switch along the handlebar to the coil.
The yellow/red wire has a bullet connector along that wire...possibly within that loom.
You need to measure the voltage of that wire at that point. You can slide the probe inside the connector. Make sure the probe is touching the connector.
Positive red meter probe on red/yellow connector. Black negative meter probe on negative battery terminal.
Meter set to 20V DC
Bike on. Engine Stop switch set to Run.
Tell us what the meter says

Ok guys so as it happens I messed up a little. Turns out their is 100% power from the battery to the ignition coils. Read the wrong spot on the coil with my initial reading. With that being said what other area might be the suspect of my issues given that the wiring from the start button to the ignition coils is working fine?

There's not much left. From each coil there is a wire to the points (one is black and the other is green). There is a condenser for each set of points.
Then on the coil there are the plug wires and resistor caps if you have them.

When you check for spark, it's best to have all four plugs out and connected to the plug wires and laying on the engine to make electrical contact.
That makes it easier to turn the motor and you can see all four at once.

Measure the voltage on the green wire as you crank the motor over. It should jump from 12 to 0 then back from 0 to 12 approximately every 180 degrees of crank rotation. The same goes for the black wire.
