REGULATOR/RECTIFIER was created by kzkart
Hey all,

well i dont have one and i have 2 questions.

1) Would any one like to sell me one
2) Could i use a universial one that you can buy off ebay for $40 and if so would it be a 5 wire or 6 wire?

The KZ650 has at least 3 different types of regulator/rectifiers.

1977 used seperate regulator and rectifier for excited field alternator. This one is easily identified by 3 screw heads in a triangle pattern on the alternator cover.

1978 to about 1980 used a single unit which was for a single-phase, permanent magnet alternator.

1981 and later CSR's used a single unit which was for a three-phase, permanent magnet alternator.

You need to find out what year and model it was, or determine exactly what alternator you have.
