Battery Warning lamp was created by kawaduce
Is there any way to hardwire the batterywarning circuit? I don't have a original Kaw battery so there is no place to attach the battery warning cable... Am I right when I think I remeber that as long as the battery warning circuit gets 6 volts or more it won't complain? Maybe just hook it up on the battery positive??

The blinking will soon drive me insane, no zen-driving here... :blink:

I think you are talking about the electrolyte sensor light. Unless you have the actual sensor unit that goes inside the battery, its worthless at the point. Just disconnect the bulb.

YES :woohoo: it's the electrolyte sensor light! BUT... I have four "warning possibilities":
1) Stand/engine switch
2) Oil
3) Battery
4) Fuel

All of the above are displayed on LCD, and if either of them fails, a red warning lamp starts flashing to the right of the LCD display. So if I disconnect the warning bulb, I loose the other warnings...

My idea of hardwiring was no good..? Or any other solution..?

Is the sensor still on the end that is suppose to go inside the battery? I guess you could try to hook it up to the posi(+) side. see what happens.

Connect the sensor to 12VDC from anywhere in the area. The brown wires around your battery box are all switched 12VDC and associated with the turn signals and aux lighting circuit (they connect to the flasher relays) and will work fine. Splice an extra wire to one. Run the wire to where the sensor on the battery connects and put a connector on the hot wire and connect it to the sensor wire and your idiot light will go out. I have the same issue on my 88 Voyager as do MANY early to late 80s bike owners. I think that the batteries are still out there somewhere but are getting real hard to find that have the sensor thing built in.
