Horn Problems

Hey Everyone,

Horn not working on my '80 KZ750H. Here's what I know:

I installed the horn on a different bike, it's fine.
No fuses blown.
With mutlimeter connected to both horn wires, 11v when horn button is pushed.
With multimeter connected to black horn wire & grounded to bike, no voltage when button is pushed.

That makes me think I have a break in the ground somewhere. However, when I put the multimeter on the horn ground wire & battery negative, it shows continuity.

What am I missing?

Do you have a black and a brown wire? The black should be coming from your button on the handlebars. The brown should come from the wiring harness. Brown is the hot wire.

Yes, I have a black & white wire. I assumed brown was the ground.

Ahh, I think I see how it works now. After opening up the horn switch, it appears the small tab (that connects the black wire to ground when the button is pushed) was not touching the inside of the switch housing.
