I have an 81 kz1000 Ltd. I need A new pickup coil. I would really like to buy used parts but am having trouble finding any as it appears a lot of parts were only used in 1981 and 1982. I am on a low budget or I would pay the $200.00 for new set. My question is does any other size or year use the same pickup coil or does anybody have a used one they would sell or know where I can get a used one?

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationThis should work. But for what their asking, a new set from Partzilla is not much more.

I bought the one on partzilla. Thanks. It said it was the last one in stock. We will see.

If that (pickups) turns out bad, you can replace just the pickup, or you can even use a 2-3 pickup (red wire, yellow wire) in its place. You can use the same pickups from pretty much any inline-four Kz from that era. So there are quite a few options if you can't find your exact pickup plate for sale.

If the one you ordered doesn't work, as I mentioned, you can pretty much use one from any inline-four Kz from that era, which is roughly 1979 to 1984. But just make sure the pickup looks like the ones you have. There were some new styles coming in starting in about 1982 or 1983 on some models. The pickups can be swapped positions too, but the wire colors will be different.

Also, in case you mix and match parts as needed, here;s a link showing how they should go back together along with how to set the magnet polarity.

Thanks. Someone told me you could use different ones but I wasn’t sure on the particulars.
