1980 kz750E 4 cylinder wiring harness was created by glitsey89@gmail.com
So I recently bought a 1980 kz750E 4 cylinder. Previously owner said bike ran fine than one morning it just wouldn't start. It has fuel and compression but no spark. Every where I searched people said check wiring connections only problem is this bike has been Frankenstein together with all kinds of different wires spliced in. so I talked to a local shop and they agreed it would be easier to just replace the entire wiring harness. Next problem is they only have one for the kz750H and I have a kz750E. Any body know if the harnesses are the same. Shop owner is unsure and has a no return policy.

They're probably very similar to each other, but not identical, especially a later year wire harness. Some areas of possible variance: handlebar controls & meters, and turn signal operating switch or reserve lighting device which may or may not be found on some models.

Wiring diagrams. mbsween. bike-night. KZ750L3. Scroll down & click "The Bible" link.
note: some of the wiring diagrams are mislabeled in the links: the 1981 Ltd is an H2, the 82 is an H3, & the 83 is an H4.
The site has a poorly copied black-&-white 750-4 pdf manual, but there's good version at the 750Turbo site below.

ps: the good manual may be linked here on KZR in the Filebase.

I just made a new harness for a 1980 KZ750H1. The E1 will be the same except for maybe the length of some wires and some connectors. Having said that the part number for the H1 harness is different (26001-1149 instead of 26001-1152 for the E1). The central harness for the alternator and regulator are the same for both models (26001-1117). Just going by the pictures of the main harnesses they look different, but it's impossible to know what those differences are without having a good photo of an E1 harness. Looking at the only listing for the E1 harness I could find on ebay, there are a lot more bullet connectors than on the H1 harness. Technically, both harnesses hook up to the same devices, so if you could post some pics of the electrics (igniter/regulator/fuse box etc., handlebar control connections, ...) I could maybe give you a better answer.
Alternatively, I have an old H1 harness that still worked when I dismantled the bike (I didn't want to put the bike back together with old wiring and chase problems for the next few years). Probably cost too much to post but you can have it if you cover shipping (from Germany).

It sucks but I have to just make my own wiring. The jackass that previously owned the bike cut all the connectors to everything and a lot of aftermarket parts that he didn't even have hooked up. But on a plus I did find a simple wiring diagram only question is I have a dyna s ignition and on the diagram it has the stock IC Igniter. Not sure exactly how I rout the wires to it. Any suggestions

The Dyna S replaces the stock igniter & pulsing coil. Z1Enterprises has a link for the installation in the part description. I think you'd use the red power wire that goes to the ignition coils (there's a red wire between the ignition coils & igniter). I guess you'd route the Dyna S wiring pigtail the same as the stock pulsing coil >> the pulsing coil connector is under the battery on my 650-CSR and the other connector with the red power wire is below that one.
