I assume that will help me figure out the new wiring.

So this is me brain storming but I’m assuming I could set it up like this. I don’t think I need to think about park. So, wait..... idk I’m still puzzled.

Using the 3 top connections.

Lights battery and ignition

Tail light 1-2

Battery 2 and tail light 3

I will draw you a simple diagram, but I need to know if you want to use the Accesory position. I often setup such a 3-position switch so that the bike can be run with or without headlight by using the Acc position. In that setup, the ignition actually becomes the accessory, and the lights use the ignition position.

The other options, as mentioned, are to use it so you have a parking light and hazard lights while the ignition is powered off. That is less useful, in my opinion, than headlight option.

I will be using an 82 Kz750H3 Ltd diagram, unless someone has a 82 Kz750N1 spectre diagram handy.

Omw! That is absolutely fantastic!

And yes, I had the position available and I think it would be helpful. Thanks!

I have a 82 kz750n diagram.
Thank you so much. Looking forward to getting this to work.

Idk if this is exactly what you want. But hopefully that works.

No prob. What I need is that little switch chart at the bottom of the page. I'm 99% sure it's the same as the H model, but every once in two blue moons Kawasaki will make an unexpected change.

I mis-spoke earlier about the headlight option. It can't be done with the ignition switch alone. It will require a cut and splice of the dimmer switch wiring on the handlebar or the reserve-lighting unit, or the headlight fuse wiring. Normally I'm making bare-bones diagrams where people have removed much of the extraneous wiring at which point it's easy to access the headlight wiring.

I drew the switch using the (3) Acc tap. This leaves the (2) Ign position open so you can add the headlight control option later if you want.

Splice the red wire to the blue wire permanently.

So, I got it all wired up and it seems to be running well. But as soon as I put the headlight on. The bike shuts off. Seems to be killing the power to the coils.

Ideas?

I didn't draw in the headlight control option. If you connected the switch as I show it, the bike should have the headlight on when the ignition is on.

Did you wire a different headlight configuration?

Either way, when you switch from ACC to IGN position, you probably have to rev the engine a bit just before you switch over. If there is a break-and-make during the switch over, the bike may stall at idle, so you rev it a bit and switch over as the RPMs are coming down.

To get the headlight control option I would have to instruct you on how to alter the wiring of the headlight circuit.

One major factor is whether you want to keep the reserve lighting unit. That device automatically switches headlight hi to lo or lo to hi in case a filament burns out. That's great if you drive on a lot of dark country roads. In a city environment it won't matter much as you won't need immediate switch-over to the other filament. It does add a lot of complexity that most people get rid of when going bare-bones. But you may not be going fully bare-bones.
