It's two yellow wires going to the alternator, the other wire goes somewhere else.
The part number for the reg/rec is 21066-029, and there are several members that have the cross reference cd, so hopefully someone will post a list of other models that use the same one.

You can also use the parts diagrams at www.buykawasaki.com to compare part numbers.

1978 KZ650B2 uses the same one. (still looking).
1979 KZ650 uses the same one.
1979 KZ400 uses the same one, and I quit :)

The '80 KZ550A should be a possible donor too. I quit too :)

The cross-reference (in the pic above) is from the Zedder Kawasaki X-Reference software, from Zedder. You can find it on eBay for about $25, if I remember correctly. A few of us have it. Since I got it I can't remember how I lived without it...

However, it's on my home computer and I'm at work so I can't answer your question, sorry... maybe someone else will...

Thanks, I found them on Ebay. Now a quick question. Is there a better repair manual then the Haynes? How is the Clymer?

Steve Zedder sells the cross reference software on eBay but also sells it directly from his web site. www.zedder.com

There is also a lot of useful data on his site; especially bike specs and frame/engine numbers, etc.
