looking for dash pictures was created by superjohn
Hey All,

i'm looking for a picture of the dash cover for a '79 kz1000 ST. i have also seen these described as the pilot box, pilot house, and indicator cover (upper and lower).

mine was missing when i bought my bike, and i'm looking for a replacement. the kawasaki.com website parts list shows the part numbers, but no diagram. i've found quite a few on ebay, but since i don't know exactly what the orgianal looks like, i'm a little lost.

if you have a picture, or if you just happen to have a spare laying around, drop a line! the snow can't last forever, and i'm getting itchy for my first ride! lol later and thanks in advance.

I will try and get you a picture. I have two project STs myself and don't have a spare. Drop me an email address for the pic. I know one of our finest members is parting out an ST and MAY have this part... Send Bob_Z1 a note. He isn't on the computer that often so if he doesn't answer, drop me a note and I will give you his email. He usually gets back in a day or two. He is a fantastic guy who is extremely reliable and honest.

Hey Bob!

thanks for the pic. that's exactly what i'm looking for.

i have this strange karma where i end up with vehicles that are so unique that nothing fits them! lol the st is proving to just such a beast. i'm enjoying it so far though. thanks again!

I did take a pic and was about ready to send it or post it... Make sure you really have ST stuff as the fork tubes are an odd size... This means the trees won't work with other tubes, the fork lowers will be different as well as the fork seals and the rubber covers.

Hey George!
thanks for your help with this. if you feel like it, you could stillforward that picture; it never hurts to have as much info as possible.

also, thanks for the advice on parts interchangeability. it does seems as if nothing from other models and years interchanges with the old st.

snow is melting fast! hopefully, ridin' is just around the corner!
