big plastic connectors

Help please.

I am attempting to rewire the stator to the big blue plastic plug/connector but have a fundamental problem.

How do I extract the 5 pins from the blue plug?

look inside the plug where the prongs stick out,theres little ears that open up as you push them in.you need to squeeze the ears back in as you pull wires out one at a time.good luck,happy wrenching!

Hey Wire, I assume you mean the kinda side "wings" of each pin that you can see when you look in the pin end? BUT, WTH do you use to "squeeze 'em in? Thanks.

I hear Radio Shack sells a small tool for just that purpose.
I could be wrong, but I THINK this is it:

Thanks 4R, I'll run down there now and see what they've got.

Just got the Neutral wire replaced and the oil pressure sensor wire totally replaced.

The suggested Radio Shack tool was an extremely fine idea but turned out to be a touch too large for the job.

I ended up sliding a very fine jewellers type thin screwdriver down each side of the pin, from the pin side and this closed up the "barbs" and allowed me extract the wire with the pin on the end of it, from the wire end.

I should have looked at this sooner, I find paper clips to work well, theres all different sizes.
