1980 kz100 points with kz 750 harness

I bought a complete kz750 wiring harness for the ignitors and other wiring, and am now looking at a points plate off of a 1980 kz1000, can I meld these two on to my kz 650 and make it all go as they say????

When you say a points plate off a 1980 1000, you must mean an Electroic Ignition plate right, not points?

I have put a '79 KZ1000 electronic ignition plate on my '78 650. You can find my conversion in this thread KZ1000 Electronic Ign. into a 650 .

I haven't started her yet, but have it all wired up, including the "Coil Wiring Mod", and ready to go. The weathers been warming up and I should be trying to start her any day now. I put gas in the tank today, checked my timing, and should be bringing my battery home from work where I've kept it over the Winter to keep warm and charge.

thanks Rob, yeah I guess i dont mean points.... or I guess i have no clue as to what I mean. When you say you did a coil mod, what did that entail. As I said I bought a newish wiring harness off of an LTD for the ignitor(s)? and wiring to the electronic ignition but let the plate go as it got too expensive. So I dont know what Im doing at all, but it hasnt stopped me so far!

wow that thread is a good one, but i wish now that i bought that 750 plate. WHat did you cut your 1000 plate with and for sure let me know if she fires up ok. Do you have a good pic of how you wired it in?
