Igniton pickup/advance rusted away

87 kz1000 police sat out in the rain for a long time.

Advance mechanism is beyond salvaging. Weights rusted
on to pivots and springs rusted through.

I really don't want to spend the bucks on a new CDI
with electronic advance. Does anyone know of something
from another model or manufacturer that sells
for cheap on ebay that I might adapt?

If not, I'll start scrounging for a replacement.

Took head of today to extract some broken bolts
and put in a helicoil. Valves look good, cylinders
look good with no discernable ridge at top of ring
travel (once the carbon was scraped off). Will measure
tomorrow. Odometer was physically broken. 46k miles
near the window but it could just as well be 24k or
68k the way it was broken.
