Hi All,

wondering if someone can point me in the right direction for a relaible, the "resonably priced" vendor for a battery (need a 12n12a-4a-1 for a 1978 KZ400)...

recently got the bike (its in REAL BAD SHAPE) but am making baby steps at a restoration....

thanks...

prime- Take your old battery. You will have to pay a couple bucks if you don't turn it in. Also, if you have a Sams Club, and are a member, they sell the same battery for your bike but about $5 cheaper.

I don't know how much different the battery is for your 400, but when I went to walmart for a bettery for my 1000 they wanted $80 for it. Unfortunately, I went to another place and paid too much for it there too. I should have gone to Jeff (Z1Enterprises), he has them for a lot less on his website. I think JCWhitney is a lot cheaper too.

Dang! A Wally battery for a KZ900 is only about $35 if you have the old one to exchange! Wonder what there is about the KZ1000 battery that makes it so expensive???? Is it a maintenance free battery?

Check out Jeff's prices -- I just did (stupid battery  ). Comes sans acid, and yeah a bit of shipping, but beat the heck out of walmart and the other usual suspects. Just my $0.02.

Hi Guys....

well, walmart had one for my bike (~$35) though it is not the top of the line - Everstart (no matter, this is a "fixer upper anyway)....

it came with the acid (which was a little disturbing to have to deal with), but all went well and it is charging right now....

thanks for the tip...
